Specifying Task Membership
Access to view Tasks and properties of Tasks including Financials, Estimates, assets and more, are controlled by Task Membership. This means that Tasks can only be viewed by a User if they are granted explicit access to that Task.
This functionality provides the following benefits:
- Only the Tasks that are relevant to a User will be visible to the User, which reduces screen clutter
- Tasks that require a small membership can be relegated controlled access to protect sensitive information
How to Specify Task Membership for a User
- Navigate to Admin > Security > User Maintenance.
- In the User List, select the User to be edited by clicking the User name.
- In the Task Membership section, one of the following options:
- View No Tasks
- The User will not have access to view any Task within iSite
- View All Tasks
- The user will implicitly have access to ALL Tasks within iSite
- View Specific Tasks
- Select one or more Tasks that the User has explicit access to view within iSite by clicking the check box next to the desired Tasks.
- If creating a new User, click the Create User button to continue, otherwise click the Update User button to continue, or click the Cancel button to cancel the process.
Exceptions
The Task Membership rules do not apply to Task Order Request Workflows where a User has been granted explicit access. However, the User may not have access to the parent Task record.
