Announcements
Announcements
The Announcements page under the Object Definitions tab of the Admin Navigation Menu provides the ability for Users to post messages on the home page of the Portal for a given license. The page displays all announcements, showing their title, start and end dates, and urgency.
Availability
Users with any of the following Permissions may manage this page:
- System Administrator
- Settings Administrator
- Support

The Announcements List
The Announcements List displays the Announcements that have been created. The list displays the following information:
- Title
- The Tile given to the Announcement. It is the first line of text at the top of an Announcement, in bold black text.
- Start Date
- When the announcement appears on the home page of the portal.
- Expiration Date
- When the announcement disappears from the home page of the Portal.
- Is Urgent?
- Conveys how important the Announcement is. If “Yes” is selected, the Announcement will be highlighted in red and be placed on the top of the Announcements List. The title of the Announcement will also be highlighted in red on the home portal page and have an “important” tag displayed.
Toolbar Functions
The Toolbar appears at the top of the Announcement list. It consists of the following functions:
- Add Announcement
- Allows the creation of a new Announcement.
- Delete Selected Records
- Deletes the selected Announcements. A confirmation message will appear before deletion. Deleting an announcement is permanent and can’t be reversed.
How to Add a New Announcement
- There are two ways to add a new Announcement
- First way:
- Click the “Add Announcement” button in the toolbar.
- Fill in the appropriate information.
- Click the “Create Announcement” button to create the new Announcement or click the“Cancel”button to abort the creation process.
- Second way:
- Navigate to the home portal page
- In the Announcement section, found on the top of the page under Dashboard, click “Add new Announcement”
- Fill in the appropriate information.
- Click the “Create Announcement” button to create the new Announcement or click the “Cancel” button to abort the creation process.
- Third way:
You can create a new Announcement when you go in to update one that already exists:
- In the Announcements List, select the record to be edited by clicking the Title.
- When you’re in the properties of the Announcement, click “Add” on the toolbar found on the top.
- Fill in the appropriate information.
- Click the “Create Announcement” button to create the new Announcement or click the “Cancel” button to abort the creation process.
**Filling in the “Title” and” Body” fields are required**
How to Edit an Existing Announcement
- In the Announcements List, select the record to be edited by clicking the Title.
- Fill in the appropriate information.
- Click the “Update Announcement” button to update the Announcement or click the “Cancel” button to abort the editing process.
How to Delete an Announcement
**Deleting an Announcement is a permanent change and cannot be reversed**
- There are two ways to delete a single Announcement
- First way:
- In the Announcements List, select the Announcement to be deleted by clicking the Title.
- In the Announcement properties page, click the “Delete this Record” button in the toolbar in the top.
- In the confirmation message pop-up, click “Yes” to permanently delete the selected Announcement or click the “No” button to abort the deletion process.
- The selected Announcement will be permanently deleted from iSite.
- Second way:
- In the Announcements List, click the check box next to the Announcement that you want to delete.
- Click the “Delete Selected Records” button in the toolbar.
- In the confirmation message pop-up, click the “Yes” button to permanently delete the selected Announcement or click the ”No” button to abort the deletion process.
- The selected Announcement will be permanently deleted from iSite.
- Deleting multiple Announcements at a time:
- In the Announcements List, click the check box next to each record that you want to delete.
- Click the “Delete Selected Records” button in the toolbar.
- In the confirmation message pop-up, click “Yes” to permanently delete the selected Announcements or click “No” to abort the deletion process.
- The selected Announcements will be permanently deleted from iSite.
